SEAL Team
All seven seasons are ready and waiting for you
First up, as of this past Tuesday, you can watch the entirety of SEAL Team, a military procedural that ran for seven seasons across CBS and Paramount+. The show centers on Master Chief Special Warfare Operator Jason Hayes, played by Bones and Angel star David Boreanaz. Jason and his team go on high-stakes clandestine missions around the world. The show digs into the details of their work, as well as the emotional and physical tolls that work takes on their personal lives.
SEAL Team is premiere action comfort food, seven seasons of shootouts, explosions, and family drama that could keep you entertained for weeks. The performances are solid, the writing takes the subject matter seriously, and the action is exciting.

Take a Hike!
An actor, a drummer, a singer, and a rapper walk into a bar up a mountain
Netflix has had a lot of luck with Korean dramas. Take a Hike! is something a little bit different. It’s a reality show that throws together a quartet of South Korean media personalities — including drummer Dowoon, actor Lee Chae-min, and rapper Tarzzan — and charges them with hiking across Korea’s snow-capped mountains. There will be challenges, there will be grit and determination and camaderie, there will be complaining, there will be food breaks.
The show looks pretty wholesome and fun. Considering how important brotherly bonding is to the series, it actually has something in common with SEAL Team. If nothing else, it’ll give viewers a great look at the beautiful South Korean countryside.
Love is Blind: UK Season 3

Love Is Blind is an American reality series where singles are isolated in specialized pods and can only communicate with each other without seeing each other. Then, after 10 days, they decide whether they’re going to get engaged, whereupon they see each other for the first time. Then they go on a romantic getaway to determine their physical chemistry, and then move in together to see if they can handle ordinary life together. Finally, they have a wedding, and they decide whether to go through with it at the alter.
Love Is Blind UK is like that, except it’s with British people rather than Americans. Is it high-minded? Not really. Is it a realistic depiction of how love and courtship works. Not especially. Will you be glued to your seat as you watch to see which of these couples will make it and which will break up in spectacular fashion? There’s a very good chance.
Freefall: A Reckoning for Boeing

John Mitchell Barnett is one of several people who worked at Boening who went public with complaints about the company’s lack of attention to safety problems. Documentary filmmaker Rory Kennedy profiled Barnett and some of his fellows in the 2022 documentary Downfall: The Case Against Boeing. Since then, Barnett was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, putting an end to his legal case against Boening that the company had undermined his career for reporting safety concerns. This new documentary feature will focus on this event.
Netflix has a long history of producing great documentary features and series. This one looks like it fit right in with the best.

Outer Banks Season 5
The end is here
This is the big one for the weekend. Outer Banks, about a group of close-knit teens who go on treasure hunts in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, became an unexpected hit for Netflix when the first season dropped in 2020. Six years later, the show is coming to an end with the fifth and final season. All 10 episodes are available to stream now.
The “Pogues” have been through all manner of drama over the years; in Season 5, a big part of the plot involves trying to avenge the death of their friend JJ Maybank (Rudy Pankow), who was killed by his father (J. Anthony Crane). Expect explosions, banter, and emotional catharsis.

Summertime Nordic noir
Two police officers are dispatched to investigate a home invasion in Stockholm, Sweden. The next day, the bodies of the officers are found.
So begins a mysterious series of murders, all of them against police officers, in this five-part Swedish series. Thomas (Jakob Oftebro), the lead detective on the case, must call in his estranged father Alfred (Peter Andersson), a former detective himself, to assist. Can they put aside decades of resentment to stop the killer as the bodies start mounting?
Blood Sacrifice looks to have all the markings of a good Nordic noir drama: brutal murders, family trauma, and a chilly atmosphere despite the show being set in the summer.

Netflix is also now streaming Swiss Army Man, a surreal 2016 dramedy starring Daniel Radcliffe as a farting corpse and Paul Dano as the shipwrecked man who rides him to safety.
